After a tired day out at London (not to mention the walk back in the cold wind), I'm feel too lazy to blog, so I shall just post some photos of the sights in London (:

Buckingham Palace! Unfortunately we didn't get to go inside because of the horrendously LOOOOONG queue, so we just took photos outside.

This statue was erected for Queen Victoria I think. It sits outside the palace.

Admiralty gate sits at the end of the road from Buckingham Palace. This place is full of the British flag.


Next stop, Trafalgar Square!


The icon of Trafalgar Square - a statue on a tall pillar of I-have-no-idea-who. (Who cares anyway? He's so high up no one can see him.)


The National Gallery just behind Trafalgar Square.


View from the National Gallery entrance. They were broadcasting live from the Beijing Olympics. In the short 10 or so minutes we watched, 2 world records were broken. Must be our Presence.

Unfortunately due to certain restrictions, we could not take photos inside the Gallery. But the paintings were OK, and alot of them centered on Christ. The most notable one was Leonardo da Vinci's Virgin on the Rocks.


London Underground! This is a picture of the tube we took in order to get from Oxford Street to the London Eye. You had to walk a unbelievably long distance to get to the platforms and there were so many that it was a bit disorientating. Makes you miss MRTs so much, especially in terms of price. Our day ticket was £5.30 and it was the off-peak price. Compare it to Singapore's $0.55 for one ride regardless of distance.


Inside the tube. Makes you miss MRTs even more. It wasn't very roomy and well-ventilated. I was near the open windo at the end of each carriage so it was still OK for me.

Westminster Abbey and the Big Ben from the Eye. Due to technicalities you can see the reflection in the glass in the photo.

I guess that about sums it all! (Apart from the aching feet, hungry stomachs and confusion ensured due to lack of familiarity with the place.) We didn't take pictures of Oxford Street as we were too busy shopping. Sorry! We'll be going to more places on Friday and maybe Saturday too, so keep an eye out here!
